It gives me immense pleasure to bring to the notice of one and all that in this academic year two mega events of the college techSRIJAN 2k9 (12th annual technical festival of college) and Alumni Convention'09 will be held simultaneously. The dates of the events are 31st October - 2nd November'09 and 31st October & 1st November'09 respectively.

It's been long since I have written on this forum (or infact whenever I tried the browser returned an error). The new look and the enhanced features look great. I think the wait was worth it.

The new tweet is great and the facebook community reflects changing way we all interact. I would suggest a link be added, that of the Alumni Chapter of Delhi NCR region website www.malviyans.com

The site has a really good database of alumni (company wise) that is of great help. Rest I think the site is great. And now the onus lies on us to make it a buzzing forum.

I learnt that one of the new modules installed in the site had a bug. This led to several emails being sent out having title: "MMMEC.in has new user." Please be informed that the email was not sent knowingly and the site is not hacked. But I do understand that the many emails would have filled your desktop and caused inconvenience. The module has been disabled. I will try my best to avoid such incidents in future.

As you can see, we have the new site and new server for our community website. You will find this much better. Apart from the various security updates under the hood, the site has been moved to a new server which is supposed to be lightning fast ( I am paying $10 per month for it, it better be fast or I want my money back! :) ) Then I also gave a new look based on teal colour which supposedly represents freshness.

Best of all, this site is now web 2.0 enabled! There are syndication options via twitter and Facebook. It also communicates with several social networks: flickr, orkut, linkedin etc. You share photos with MMMEC on Flickr and we show it here. You can set your "status" on profile page just like other social networks.

• Easier to find data using Google custom search engine for our site.
• The blog now has a rich text editor. Imporoved security through Google Recaptcha.
• Use your profile page as OpenID
• Vote for your favourite article to mark it popular!
• Share the articles on facebook
• Retweet on twitter
• Invite your MMMEC friends using contact importer

You are already a member, do make this site useful by using it. Let me know if you have any ideas for this site. I will try to incorporate it.

People including me have already told you guys earlier about this, but here it is again. Request other alumni to add more suggestions in reply to this post. This is not exhaustive at all. I listed them after looking at some CVs sent to me. You should check your CV with this list at least. These are just my opinions. Other people may differ. So, always get your CV reviewed by at least 2 seniors in the same/similar industry. Do not hurry in making it, these 2 sheets of paper will shape your future. Sometimes resume may need to be adapted for particular job opening. If you are maintaining several resume, do not mix them.
